Simple Paper Plate Puppy
We’re back with another fun puppy craft! This DIY paper plate puppy is super simple and will be ready for you to play with it lickity-split! You’ll just need a few things you probably already have in your house and maybe some help from an adult. You can follow along with us on our Facebook page or work at your own pace using the directions below.
Supplies Needed
- Plain White Paper Plate
- Any Color of Construction Paper
- Scissors
- Glue Bottle / Stick -either one will work
- Black Marker
- 2 Large Googly Eyes
- Pencil
Instructions
First you will want to grab your construction paper and fold it about ⅓ of the way down, hamburger style. (so ⅓ of a hamburger *giggle)
Next, you can trace one ear over the folded side of the paper. Your ears can be long, they can stand straight up, whatever you’d like!
Ask an adult for help if you need cutting. Cut along the pencil traced ear. This will give you 2 ears that are identical so you don’t need to trace a second time.
Using your glue stick, glue the ears onto the front of the paper plate.
Using the leftover scraps of construction paper, you can cut out a spot for your dog. Be as creative as you’d like!
Glue this spot where you plan to glue one of your puppy’s eyes. And then glue on your puppy's eyes! We used a glue stick and it worked great. However if you think it isn’t enough to hold, go ahead and use the glue bottle.
To make your puppy’s nose, trace the bottom of the glue bottle with your pencil onto the paper plate. Color the nose in with your black marker. Then create 2 hook shapes from the bottom of the nose to create the mouth.
Your paper plate puppy is complete!
Fun tip: If you’d like to turn this craft into a mask, glue a popsicle stick to the bottom of the paper plate.
We hope you had fun! Now don't forget to name your puppy! We'll see you next time!
